Catelyn's Chapter:

The setting of this chapter takes place in Winterfell inside of the Stark's castle. There is also a new character that is introduced which is Catelyn, Ned's wife. In this chapter they mention something called the "heart tree." This tree sits in the center of the grove with white bark, dark red leaves, and a face that ad been carved into it. Catelyn ten informs Ned of the death of his friend Jon Arryn and King Robert and his family will be coming to stay with them.

This chapter is important because it is one of the chapters that sets up the story line for the book. This chapter gives insight to who Catelyn is and why she is important in the book. I chose this chapter because it was the one that I could most clearly understand and also because it was the first chapter that had something to do with a female character. What I liked about this chapter was the mentioning of the tree which I found to be quite suspicious and interesting. This chapter introduces the religion of Catelyn and her family (the Tully's) and how they worshipped a god that has seven faces. The faces of these gods were similar to the faces of her parents. This would be a good topic for class discussion because it is something that is out of the ordinary.

  1. The tree is really important as is Catelyn's religion to her (which is actually different than Ned's). Keep developing your summary (it is a little basic) but your analysis is off to a good start.
